A Trip to the Alameda Flea Market!

The Alameda Antiques Faire is the largest antique show in Northern California. Held on the 1st Sunday of every month, the Faire boasts over 800 dealer booths! All items are 20 years or older.  This is the ultimate place to shop for vintage and antique home decorations, clothing, furniture, jewelry, art, pottery, books & collectibles. Here is a very small selection of photos to give you an idea of the incredible variety of items!

This photo was suppose to showcase the wonderful view of San Francisco...
but instead, I came out with - well - this.

Apparently, you have to get there around 7AM to get the great furniture.

My new craft inspiration! I love this tin box decorated with old vintage jewelry :)

And they have plenty of vintage jewelry pieces to choose from!

Every antique doorknob you could imagine.

And it just keeps getting better...

 And better.

Here are a few of my favorite finds

An old perfume bottle with an intricate floral designed top.
Maybe made out of some sort of bone or ivory? Or that could be wishful thinking!

This is an old set of salt and pepper shakers, but look how well it works as a stand
for my handmade beaded bouquets!

And how could I leave without this sweet P stamped onto an old piece of wood?!

Muir Woods

As many of you know, Tyler and I will be moving to Charlotte, North Carolina in July - leaving us a short time to explore the west coast!  A couple weeks ago we drove to Muir Woods National Monument, which is located just north of the Golden Gate Bridge.  There was a self guided nature tour in which you are surrounded by redwood trees over 600 years old.  It was such a peaceful and stunning environment - and of course I couldn't go without my camera!
Once we were done with our hike, we made our way over to the town of Sausalito. They are primarily known for breathtaking views of San Francisco and Angel Island, but they also have a delightful downtown area filled with quaint restaurants and shops. (I'll post the Sausalito photos in a couple days!)

Since our day trip, I have received my new Adobe Light Room Software!  I have been experimenting and playing around with all the different tools over the past couple days and feel like I came out with some pretty neat images!
Here are some of the results :)

 Low saturation shots

 Detail shots with "yesteryear" filter

Tyler likes this one because he says it looks like he is "The Chosen One" HA

Warning: This will come across as extremely cheesy.
I loved this tree because their roots and foundation were one,
yet they were still two trees.

Playing with how focus and depth of field can completely change the feeling of a photo.

Next stop...Yosemite!

Photo Shoot for Whitney Alyssa Hair Accessories!

Hello!
Well, I am happy to finally get to share an amazing photo shoot I was a part of back in November!  I have been working hard to promote Whitney Alyssa accessories and knew one of the key elements of that would be to have 1. a great product and 2. great photos of that product!  And look at what I got out of it, beautiful images to present to potential retailers :) I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

About the shoot: I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Patricia Rossi, a photographer located in San Jose, California (but is available all around the bay area!).  She is a natural light photographer specialized in family, maternity, newborn, and children portraits.  Her style is very fresh, light, and modern.  Last year she found a special passion for wedding photography and made the decision to learn everything she could about it.  It was obvious while working with Patricia that she loves what she does. She makes her clients/models feel at ease, while capturing those special, spontaneous moments. I am happy to announce that she is now booking weddings!
